How to make a polymer clay candy cane
A red and white candy cane, twisted just like a real one.

What you need
Clay in these colours
- Red
- White
- Sculpting tools from the kit
- An electric oven and baking paper. An adult does the baking.
Step by step
Roll a red ball.
Roll a white ball the same size.
Roll the red ball into a long strand.
Roll the white ball into a strand of the same length.
Lay the strands side by side, touching.
Twist them around each other.
Carefully roll the twisted strand smooth.
Bend the top over like a walking stick and stand it upright. Done!
Tip
The tighter you twist, the thinner the stripes get.
An adult does the baking
- 110–130 °C, never higher
- 10–15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
- Electric oven only
