How to make a polymer clay avocado

Half an avocado with a big brown stone. Also fun as a keyring.

What you need

Clay in these colours

  • Green
  • Light green
  • Brown
  • Black
  • White
  • Pink
  • Sculpting tools from the kit
  • An electric oven and baking paper. An adult does the baking.

Step by step

  1. Roll a green teardrop for the skin.

  2. Press the teardrop flat into a thick slab.

  3. Roll a smaller light green teardrop for the inside.

  4. Press the light green teardrop flat onto the green one.

  5. Roll a brown ball for the stone.

  6. Press the stone in place at the bottom of the light green part.

  7. Roll two small black balls, two tiny white ones, two small pink ones and a thin black strand.

  8. Press the eyes with white dots, the cheeks and the mouth onto the stone. Done!

Tip

Leave a little green edge showing all the way round: that’s the skin.

An adult does the baking

  • 110–130 °C, never higher
  • 10–15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
