How to make a polymer clay carrot

What you need

Clay in these colours

  • Orange
  • Green
  • Black
  • White
  • Pink
  • Sculpting tools from the kit
  • An electric oven and baking paper. An adult does the baking.

Step by step

  1. Roll an orange teardrop with a narrow point for the carrot.

  2. Use the needle tool to scratch a few short lines across the carrot.

  3. Roll three green teardrops for the leafy tops.

  4. Press the teardrops in place on top of the carrot by their narrow ends.

  5. Roll two small black balls and two tiny white balls for the eyes.

  6. Press the eyes on and press a white dot onto each eye.

  7. Roll two small pink balls for the cheeks and a thin black strand.

  8. Press on the cheeks, and the strand as a smiling mouth. Done!

Tip

Scratch the lines across the carrot, just like on a real one.

An adult does the baking

  • 110–130 °C, never higher
  • 10–15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
