What you need

Clay in these colours

  • Orange
  • Purple
  • Yellow
  • Black
  • Sculpting tools from the kit
  • An electric oven and baking paper. An adult does the baking.

Step by step

  1. Roll an orange ball.

  2. Roll a long, thin purple sausage.

  3. Make the sausage into a ring and press the ends together.

  4. Slide the ring around the planet at a slant and gently press it in place.

  5. Roll seven small yellow balls and press them flat onto the planet.

  6. Press two black eyes and a black smiling mouth onto the planet.

  7. Make two little yellow stars: press a small ball flat and pinch out five points.

  8. Stand the little stars upright next to your planet. Done!

Tip

Make the hole in the ring just as big as the planet, so the ring stays firmly in place.

An adult does the baking

  • 110–130 °C, never higher
  • 10–15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
  • Electric oven only
