How to make a polymer clay birthday cake
A pink cake with whipped cream, cherries and a candle.

What you need
Clay in these colours
- Pink
- White
- Red
- Yellow
- Orange
- Sculpting tools from the kit
- An electric oven and baking paper. An adult does the baking.
Step by step

Roll a pink ball and press it flat into a thick cake.

Roll a long, thin white strand.

Lay the strand in a wavy line around the top edge and press it on.

Roll six small red balls for the cherries.

Press the cherries onto the cake in a circle.

Roll a thick yellow candle.

Make a small orange teardrop and press it onto the candle as a flame.

Put the candle in the middle of the cake. Done!
Tip
Make one for someone who is having a birthday and put the right number of candles on it.
An adult does the baking
- 110–130 °C, never higher
- 10–15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
- Electric oven only
