How to make a polymer clay dolphin

What you need

Clay in these colours

  • Blue
  • White
  • Black
  • Pink
  • Sculpting tools from the kit
  • An electric oven and baking paper. An adult does the baking.

Step by step

  1. Roll a blue ball for the body.

  2. Shape it into a teardrop and pinch a short snout at the front.

  3. Press a flat white patch under the belly, all the way up under the snout.

  4. Make a small blue triangle and press it on top as a dorsal fin.

  5. Press two small flat fins onto the sides.

  6. Make a tail fin from two small, flat blue teardrops.

  7. Press the tail fin on at the back.

  8. Press a black eye and a pink cheek on each side. Done!

Tip

Bend the body a little and it will look like it’s jumping.

An adult does the baking

  • 110–130 °C, never higher
  • 10–15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
  • Electric oven only
