How to make a polymer clay watermelon

What you need

Clay in these colours

  • Red
  • White
  • Green
  • Black
  • Sculpting tools from the kit
  • An electric oven and baking paper. An adult does the baking.

Step by step

  1. Roll a red ball.

  2. Press the ball flat into a thick half circle.

  3. Roll a long, thin white strand.

  4. Press the white strand in place along the round edge.

  5. Roll a long green strand.

  6. Press the green strand in place around the white edge.

  7. Roll seven small black teardrops for the seeds.

  8. Press the seeds into the red with their points facing up. Done!

Tip

Make the white strand thinner than the green one.

An adult does the baking

  • 110–130 °C, never higher
  • 10–15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
  • Electric oven only
