How to make a polymer clay sleeping puppy

What you need

Clay in these colours

  • White
  • Brown
  • Black
  • Pink
  • Sculpting tools from the kit
  • An electric oven and baking paper. An adult does the baking.

Step by step

  1. Roll a white ball and make it longer for the body.

  2. Roll a smaller white ball and press it in place at the front as the head.

  3. Press four small white sausages in place as the legs and tail. Scratch little toes.

  4. Press a flat brown patch onto the head, where an eye will go later.

  5. Make two brown teardrops and press them flat for the ears.

  6. Press the ears in place at the sides of the head.

  7. Roll a small black ball and press it in place as the nose.

  8. Press thin black sleepy eyes, a mouth and a pink cheek in place. Done!

Tip

Make a second puppy that’s awake, with open eyes.

An adult does the baking

  • 110–130 °C, never higher
  • 10–15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
  • Electric oven only
